JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT LESSON PLAN
The following list is the general order in which the elements of Table
Tennis will be taught. Each student will progress according to his / her
learning ability, and therefore, there is no time frame associated with
each element.
MULTI-BALL
In the early stages of development children cannot keep a rally going,
so a technique called multi-ball is used. Using a basket full of balls,
the instructor will hit balls to the student. The student will attempt
to return the ball to a specific target on the table. The instructor will
keep hitting balls from the basket, and the student will get quality
practice through repetition even though his / her shots are not hitting
the table in the begining.
