Good Life Games Table Tennis Tournament
Tournament to Take Place in Clearwater.
Pinellas County, Florida¾
The Good Life Games Table Tennis Tournament will take place on Saturday, March 18th at The Long Center recreation complex in Clearwater, Florida. The tournament is hosted by the Sunrise Table Tennis Club (STTC) for the Good Life Games.
The Good Life Games of Pinellas County and approximately 20 other Regional Florida Senior Games create a series of year-round competitive events, for athletes age 50 and over, culminating at the yearly Florida Senior Games State Championships. To compete in the 2006 Florida Senior Games State Championships, senior athletes must qualify at one of Florida's local senior games competitions during 2006. Local senior games events run from January through March and September through November. The 2006 Florida Senior Games State Championships will be a qualifier for the 2007 National Senior Games in Louisville, KY.
The Good Life Games Table Tennis Tournament events include Mixed Doubles, Men's Singles, Women's Singles and Same Sex Doubles. Each event is separated into age divisions in 5-year segments, starting at age 50. In Doubles, if one player is in higher age bracket, they must play down to the lower-age player bracket. The top five winners in each age group qualify for The Florida Senior Games Championships in December 2006.
The STTC operates several table tennis clubs in Pinellas
County, open to anyone with an interest in the sport.
The activities of the STTC include regular club play, tournaments,
coaching, senior activities and community outreach in the sport of table tennis.
The STTC also provides free services in the sport of table tennis for
area youth.
More information and the locations and hours of club play are available on the STTC web site www.SunriseTableTennis.com, or by contacting the club at (727) 669-0899. Club play is available every day of the week and is open to players of all ages and levels.
