The World Senior Games are held annually
in October, and a trio of Clearwater
women participated this year in St.
George, Utah. Sari Kisbany of Redington
Shores, Margo Lindsay of Clearwater and
Nahed Williams of Redington Shores
represented the Sunrise Table Tennis
Club in Clearwater, and each walked away
with multiple medals.
Williams snagged gold, two silvers
and two bronze medals in singles and
doubles matches. Kisbany earned three
golds, three silvers and bronze, and
Lindsay won gold, silver and bronze. The
group plays at the table tennis club
four times per week and has participated
in the world senior games the past five
years.
The senior games were held Oct. 6-18
and hosted thousands of senior athletes.
There were 24 events contested,
including traditional sports like
swimming and track and field, and
nontraditional sports like cowboy action
shooting and pickle ball (a mini-tennis
game using small paddles and a badminton
net).
