Table Tennis Youth Summer Camp

Junior Athletes To Train and Compete

Pinellas County¾

This summer, at three recreation centers in Clearwater, the Sunrise Table Tennis Club (STTC) will be conducting a youth summer camp program one afternoon per week starting on May 22nd.  Every Monday afternoon at the the Countryside Recreation Center (12:30 pm to 2:30 pm) and at the Morningside Recreation Complex (3:00 pm to 5:00 pm) and every Friday afternoon at the Ross Norton Recreation Complex (times TBA), young athletes will hone their table tennis skills.  The program is provided as a free service by the STTC as part of their ongoing Junior Athletes Development Program.

The junior players are taught Olympics-style table tennis.  Each session, basic skills in effective strokes, footwork and game strategy are drilled.  But fun and games ensue as the play heats up with fast-paced matches and round-robin competition.  The summer camp program culminates in the Annual Summer Camp Table Tennis Championship, a tournament competition between the teams from each of the recreation centers.

The summer camp is part of a year-round program of youth development in the sport of table tennis by the STTC.  The program emphasizes skills development, athleticism and sportsmanship.  The training provides young players with a sports-level ability that will last a lifetime.  Some local youth are even training for participation in the Olympics Table Tennis Team.

The summer camp is available to any players ages 9 -17.  For more information, contact Margo Lindsay at (727) 669-0899, or visit www.SunriseTableTennis.com .
